Preventative Maintenance Plan
PMP
aving a Preventative Maintenance Plan can be a debated topic. Some say its a waste of money, while others say it is a total money saver. It's kind'a funny that the ones who say it's worth it have had an issue with their unit and a PMP saved them loads of money!

Think of what your dentist says-
"Only floss the teeth you want to keep!"
Talk about a Preventative Maintenance Plan...
Being proactive about the “health” of your HVAC system is part of being a responsible homeowner.
If you allow RESCUE to perform your Maintenance you will be able to rest assured that the job was done carefully and skillfully. We know your time is valuable and leaving your PMP to us means YOU can do more of what YOU love!
Getting on a Preventative Maintenance Plan provides many advantages, including:
1. Preventing costly breakdowns. When an HVAC system component fails, replacement and repair costs can be significant. And it is particularly hard to write the check when you learn, as is often the case, that the problem could have been avoided with regular maintenance or even a quick, inexpensive fix.
2. Reducing energy bills. It’s far more costly to run an HVAC system that isn’t operating efficiently than one that is kept functioning at peak performance.
3. Extending the life of the system and its components. HVAC systems, like all mechanical systems, have a “life expectancy,” so eventually major repairs and/or replacements will be necessary. But if you can put off a bill of, say, $5,000 for two years rather than paying it today, imagine the positive impact that would have on your finances as a homeowner.
4. Keeping your system under warranty. HVAC system manufacturers typically require proof of annual maintenance when a warranty claim is filed. If you haven’t been having your system serviced at least once a year (and ideally more often), they may deny your claim.
5. Improving the air quality in your home. HVAC systems are designed to support a healthy, comfortable indoor climate. Getting your system serviced regularly enables it to meet that objective.
6. Minimizing your environmental footprint. When your HVAC system is operating efficiently, it uses less fuel, and that’s better for the environment. Plus, as new technologies become available, your HVAC technician can make recommendations for ways to further minimize your environmental footprint.
7. Protecting your home. HVAC systems are designed to operate safely, and it’s fair to say that they rarely cause damage in a home. Even so, they are powered by electricity, natural gas and other fuels that can be dangerous if not controlled and used properly. Having a technician discover a small leak or other issues before they can evolve into big problems is important.
How Often Is Maintenance Needed?
A general rule of thumb is that you should have a trained HVAC technician assess and service your system at least once a year, preferably twice a year.
Another reason that multiple visits per year can be beneficial is that it is ideal to have your air conditioning system serviced just before the hot summer months, March thru May and your furnace or heat pump serviced just ahead of the arrival of cool Fall nights and mornings, October thru December.
Why Not Simply Call When You Want to Have Your HVAC System Serviced?
Have you ever noticed that most dentist offices will have you schedule your next appointment at the tail end of your current visit? Why? Because even though you might set a reminder for yourself to return in six months, it’s too easy to put off scheduling an appointment in the middle of a busy day or hectic week.
The same is true with HVAC Preventative Maintenance. You could certainly set a reminder to call RESCUE in a year to book a visit, but you’re much more likely to stay on schedule if you get on a Preventative Maintenance Plan.
And finally, while Preventative Maintenance is a very cost-effective service, knowing when your visit is scheduled enables you to include it in your family budget.
